IST-EC2 Overview

IST-EC2 was a joint Canada-Europe project whose principal objective was to facilitate the participation of European and Canadian IST researchers in each others comparable Research & Technology Development (RTD) programs. Under the project, Canadian and European research and technology developers from both the public and private sectors, could search for European or Canadian RTD projects in which they had liked to participate for mutual benefit.

The identification of prospective partners was facilitated by an interactive website, community newsletters, and participation in project sponsored networking events. Partners in joint projects were responsible for securing funding for their contribution to that project within their own organisations, or from other sources available in their respective countries.
