The infrastructure of the 5G Campus network is equipped with Ericsson’s cutting-edge hardware, including Ericsson Radio Dot for indoor coverage, mmWave for ultra-high-speed connectivity, and Mini-Link for efficient backhaul transmission. It also integrates high-performance hardware components such as the Indoor Radio Unit (IRU), Firewall, and Baseband. Furthermore, Ericsson AIR enhances radio access capabilities, optimizing network performance for various deployment scenarios, including outdoor cells to extend coverage beyond indoor environments.
Location & Coverage
The network is deployed in the InfoPark (Budapest, Hungary). The outdoor coverage area is the open field between the Ericsson House and the Informatics Building of the BME (BME I. building). It operates under a contractual agreement with the Magyar Telekom and the National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) for frequency usage. The network offers indoor coverage in both the Ericsson House and the Informatics Building of the BME (BME I. building), using the same frequency bands as the outdoor configuration.
The allocated frequency bands include 3540-3560 MHz, as well as a downlink (DL) range of 2640-2650 MHz and an uplink (UL) range of 2520-2530 MHz. These frequency assignments ensure efficient spectrum utilization and regulatory compliance, supporting reliable network performance within the designated area.
Additionally, the network has a mmWave radio component as well, based on the temporary frequency usage agreement with the National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH).
The coordinates of the deployment are: 47°28'19.7"N 19°03'39.6"E
The network can operate in both 5G stand alone (SA) or 4G/5G non-stand alone (NSA) modes.
